For Jamie Shirey, FNP-BC, her journey into midlife wellness started with frustration, first as a clinician, then as a patient.
Early in her career as a nurse practitioner in traditional healthcare, she saw the same story repeat especially in women in their 40s and 50s. Fatigue, brain fog, low libido, weight gain, anxiety. Too often, they were told it was “just aging” or handed a prescription without real answers.
Then Jamie started experiencing those same symptoms herself. She was eating well, exercising, and doing all the “right” things but still felt off. The fatigue, mental fog, and disconnection were real, and the response she got from her own providers mirrored what she’d seen in her patients: dismissal.
That was the turning point.
Jamie began diving deep into functional medicine, hormone optimization, metabolic health, inflammation, and insulin resistance. She learned how to address the real root causes of midlife health struggles first healing herself, and then transforming her approach with patients.
Today, Jamie is the founder of Midlifesy, a practice devoted to helping women (and men) optimize their hormones, reset their metabolism, and reclaim their energy and confidence. Her passion comes from lived experience and her commitment is to ensure no patient ever feels unseen or unheard during midlife.

A Practice Born from Experience
Jamie’s “aha” moment came in a single sentence she heard as a patient: “It’s simple eat less and move more.”
She walked out of that appointment feeling dismissed but also determined. Even before completing her nurse practitioner program, she knew she would never say those words to a patient. Instead, she made it her mission to learn the deeper science behind midlife health and to find a better way.
Today, her care combines hormone and metabolic optimization, targeted supplementation, lifestyle strategies, and patient education always backed by data, not guesswork.
Tools That Transform Care
At Midlifesy, Jamie uses wearable devices and lab testing to track progress in real time measuring things like HRV (heart rate variability), sleep quality, and recovery. These insights help pinpoint whether issues like cortisol imbalance, inflammation, or hormonal shifts are in play, allowing for tailored interventions that get better, faster results.
“Patients can see their progress in real numbers, not just how they feel and that kind of feedback creates buy-in and momentum.”
Her Mission in Motion
Jamie’s work is about more than symptom relief; it’s about giving midlife women and men the tools, knowledge, and confidence to thrive.

Looking Ahead
Jamie’s mission is clear to change the conversation around midlife health and to ensure that precision, personalized care becomes the standard, not the exception.
“I’m in a season where I’m finally building what I was meant to build and I’m not slowing down anytime soon.”
